Our library

Here at Malmesbury Primary School we are lucky enough to have two library spaces, and an extensive selection of lovely books. In the Reception and Year 1 area we have the Storyland library, where the walls are decorated with much-loved book characters.

Upstairs in the Junior Library the books are organised by author surname for fiction, and by subject for the non-fiction shelves. The area is decorated with a variety of displays, from giant book covers made by each class, reading recommendations from teachers and pupils to art work inspired by children’s book loans.

Write a Book Review for the Junior Library!

If you have really been inspired by a book you have borrowed from the library why not write about it and share your enjoyment?

One of our new library displays has space for reviews of the new Tom Gates book, “Dog Zombies Rule”.  If you have read the book please write a review and encourage other readers.

Have you read this book?

Can you identify the books in this display?

There are answer sheets in the Junior Library, and an answer box to post your entries.

If you can’t see the pictures too clearly from this picture, go and have a look at the original poster in the library area.

Good luck!

Check out the web sites of some of our favourite authors!

Click on the buttons below to go to the official author web sites, and let the librarians know if there are other authors you would like to be added here!

Ever wondered which book comes next in the series?

Well, now you can find out! There is a very helpful web site where you can look up the best order in which to read a set of books. This is really useful when there are a lot of books by an author and there are no numbers on the covers to help you decide where to start…

Focus on.....Horrible Histories
