School Lunches


From this September we will be changing the process of ordering school lunches. You will now select, and pay if applicable, at the time of ordering their child’s meal through ParentMail. When the register goes live for you to order meals, you will be notified by ParentMail.

As well as incorporating the school meal booking into our main communication tool, this new system offers increased flexibility to families, to be able to order one week in advance, which will enable you to make changes to menu choices as the term progresses. You will still be able to order a term in advance if you prefer. If you pay for school meals, this system will allow you to pay weekly, in advance, to help with budgeting. Once you have ordered lunches, you will be able to view the choices made on ParentMail, which can be a helpful reminder when ordering in advance!

The initial register that will be published imminently, will only enable you to order lunches for the first week back in September. These will need to be ordered by Wednesday 20th July 2022, so that supplies can be in school for September. If you do not complete the order by Wednesday 20th July 2022, you will need to provide your child with a home packed lunch for the whole of the first week back in September. From Thursday 20th July, you will be able to order for the rest of term one.

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free school meals through the government initiative, Universal Infant Free School Meals, and so will not be charged at time of checkout. The system is aware of which children this affects. This is the same for free school meal families.

Which Lunch menu week is it?

Click on the button below for a calendar showing which lunch week it is. The Week 1,2,3 series runs across half term breaks but restarts at Week 1 after Christmas and Easter when there are new menus.

The school kitchen provides a choice of hot meals and school packed lunches daily. Hot lunches are served every day on a three-week menu rotation. There are different menus for the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms. We offer main and vegetarian options, jacket potatoes with various fillings and sandwiches with cheese, ham or tuna.

If your child is absent due to illness you will NOT be charged for the meal that you have booked. If you have booked a meal but subsequently sent your child in with a packed lunch, we will ask your child to eat the meal that has been booked for them and take the home packed lunch back home.

Finally if your child is on a class trip and away over lunchtime, the meal choices will not apply for that day.  You will be offered the choice of booking a school packed lunch for the trip separately.

Paying for lunches

Lunches are provided free of charge for pupils in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2.  For children in Years 3-6 lunches are charged at £2.45 per day, and are booked and paid for in advance via Parentmail.
