LUNCH ARRANGEMENTS

Since September 2022 the process of ordering school lunches is to select, and pay if applicable, at the time of ordering your child’s meal through ParentMail. When the register goes live for you to order meals, you will be notified by ParentMail.

As well as incorporating the school meal booking into our main communication tool, this system offers increased flexibility to families, to be able to order meals one school week in advance, which will enable you to make changes to menu choices as the term progresses. Menus will close at midnight the Tuesday of the previous school week, meaning that orders for the first week of every term, must be placed the week before the end of the previous term. You will still be able to order a term in advance if you prefer. Once you have ordered lunches, you will be able to view the choices made on ParentMail, which can be a helpful reminder when ordering in advance!

Children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free school meals through the government initiative, Universal Infant Free School Meals, and so will not be charged at time of checkout. The system is aware of which children this affects. This is the same for free school meal families who are entitled to Income Based Free School Meals from EYFS to Year 6.

Please note that it is the parent/carers responsibility to order their child’s lunch. If a child arrives at school without a home packed lunch and a school meal has not been booked, it will be the parents’ responsibility to arrange for a packed lunch to be brought into the school.

Which Lunch menu week is it?

Click on the button below for a calendar showing which lunch week it is. The Week 1,2,3 series runs across half term breaks but restarts at Week 1 after Christmas and Easter when there are new menus.

The school kitchen provides a choice of hot meals and school packed lunches daily. Hot lunches are served every day on a three-week menu rotation. There are different menus for the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms. We offer main and vegetarian options, jacket potatoes with various fillings and sandwiches with cheese, ham or tuna.

If your child is absent due to illness you will NOT be charged for the meal that you have booked. If you have booked a meal but subsequently sent your child in with a packed lunch, we will ask your child to eat the meal that has been booked for them and take the home packed lunch back home.

Finally if your child is on a class trip and away over lunchtime, the meal choices will not apply for that day.  You will be offered the choice of booking a school packed lunch for the trip separately.

Paying for lunches

Lunches are provided free of charge for pupils in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2.  For children in Years 3-6 lunches are charged at £2.90 per day, and are booked and paid for in advance via Parentmail.
