Pupil Premium Statement

The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. Pupil Premium funding is available to local authority maintained schools, including special schools and pupil referral units.

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011, and is paid by means of a specific grant based on school census figures for pupils. Pupil Premium is calculated by the number of FSM children at the school in addition to the number of looked after children who attend the school, calculated using the Children Looked After data returns (SSDA903). A premium has also been introduced for children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces — this service premium addresses the emotional and social wellbeing of these pupils. The Pupil Premium is additional to main school funding and intended to help the school address underlying inequalities between eligible children by ensuring funding reaches the pupils who need it most.

We want the Pupil Premium to make a difference at our school. It is used to help our pupils overcome barriers to learning, working towards our mission statement: "Growing together in wisdom and love; discovering life in all its fullness".
